[DJ Sash - Future Dimension]

Its nice, and refreshing

I see this as a mixture of Drum n Bass and Goa or Psy Trance [however you wanna call it]. That's why i said it's refreshing, because you dont really see songs out there with that lethal combination.

When it first started off, i thought that if you incorporated the DnB aspect and Hard Dance instead of Goa, it would've sounded much better. I still think that. Rather than have some of the synth sounds you used [which by no means am i saying they are bad], you could've used the saw synths used in hard trance and dance songs. It would've fit in with the song perfectly. Also one thing that would've made it better [for me], was if the bass was EQ'ed a little more. You can feel it there but it doesn't 'drive' the song, needs that extra something. some compression maybe.

In all its a great tune with crazy riffs and a crazy combination of 2 gernes. Very well done man.

Thanks man. Its goa? I thought goa had to do only with how the percussion is, not the sound-choice (told to me by G-rave, :( ) Yea, I'll probably turn up the bass and make it more powerful, thats how all Hardcore genre tracks are. Good song, needs work though

If you chose your melodies more carefully, it wouldve been a killer ass track. The drums are the best feature of this song. So well mixed and mastered and the filters and panning. i mean damn i hope the drums were not a sample. please tell me you did them from scratch, be honest. i'd suggest working on your melodies.

Why is the score so low?

I have my thoughts: There are people out there who don't like you, or maybe this isn't your song and they are just trying to teach you not to submit someone else's work. I will comment and tell you what i think of the song, but i just want you to promise to me if you respond to this, that this is your own work, not some professional artist's work. seriously, thats just low if it is.

Assuming that its yours...WOW this is a great piece, anger, emotion, rawness. Everything that DnB is about. The production on this is strong. Good mixing on this, maybe at the end it could've been compressed and EQ'ed a bit more but overall its delightful to my ears [and i dont go soft on the production part to people]. Nothing short of a banger, you should make more.

I see potential, let me give you my thoughts on this.

I think that if you wouldve used some clean saw synths for the leads it wouldve sounded great. Also, try to clean up your sounds. EQ mix and master some more to polish the sound. Its always good to learn that.

Well thanks for your advice, i was told once before that my drums (though not on this track or the previous version of it) sound like 80's drums (check chill session and then Drown in the fountain of youth for example of progress made), well that's an issue i'm glad to say has been adhered to, I take notice of all helpful reviews I recieve. I've PM'd you too, in hope that you can elaborate further on the issues you've raised

i found it ok

Nothing i havn't heard before, but it does the job. I would've tried to raise the treble or do something to fix the sound. Maybe its my headphones but the song sounded kinda muffled. A raise on the high end 2dB+ wouldve done the trick i think. Just a suggestion. Still, pretty good track you got here.

Could've been better

The melody was off key, the production was ok [but whos isn't? lol] and i think the drums could've been alot better [the drum sounds not the layout, that was great]. What i do see though is a good vision. Individualy the song is not that good, but as a whole the song comes together and delivers. My advice to you is that you take some time to learn about the different scales [what do you use, FL Studio?], and work on the mixing EQing and mastering. dont forget to add a little reverb to your sounds, it helps alot!

wow i really enjoyed it

I just hope it has no samples or anything cuz that would really piss me off since i like this tune. Apart from the fact that its really short, i dont have really alot of criticism. Maybe could've used a little reverb on the master to bring out the feel of the song some more, and raise the treble for the hats 1dB or less just to make it sizzle, u know? It's a great tune man, awesome riffs, but the best is the production. Top notch man.

I see some potential in this

It has that dark odd feeling i like on trance songs. You got the melodies down alright, that break down to the melody was astounding, but i think a major flaw in this song is the production. Take my advice and take some time off to learn more about mixing EQing and mastering. Trust me, it will take your music so much further. Even if you have the greatest melody, no one will want to hear if it sounds like crap! + all that distortion, can really damage your eardrums, and for us musicians, thats a precious thing to loose. Think about it.

That hurt my eardrum

Not because it was a bad song, its just that, ok i get its an industrial song, but that doesn't mean you can't compress, EQ, mix and master this song so that there is less eardrum breaking distortion!

I would seriously re-EQ the whole song and then re-submit it, as a "digitally remastered" version. Don't get me wrong, the song is good, just that everything has a point were everything is good until its just too much.

I think this could go somewhere. As how it stands right now, the song is ok. With some strings on the background, better quality and mixing of the vocals and mastering of the entire song, this could be a really great song. Dont stop there. remake it!

wow! that's great. I'm trying to fix a few bugs, but I'd like to do a collab with someone since my synth machine works, but it stinks. if anybody's interested, yourself included, I'm working on v.2 of 'child of gaia', with a few changes, the lyrics are being tweaked, so-on. but I need someone with a decent synth to team up with.

note: as it is, all that was recorded was my voice (one layer) in a stairwell. it's a demo for a reason, I didn't put any effort into this, but with your input I'll be able to make v.2 something amazing. thanks so much!
